Striving for a New Blue Ocean, Yuecheng Medical Device Industry Has Entered a Period of Rapid Development

Zhende Medical is the leader in domestic medical dressings; Hisern Medical ranks among the top three in domestic anesthetic consumables; Full-care Group is among the top five national exporters in medical catheters... The development of Yucheng's medical device industry is evident to all.  Now, with the opening of the finals of the Seventh China Medical Device Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the first China (Shaoxing) Medical Device Innovation Week, a batch of high-quality award-winning projects will be attracted, further boosting Yucheng's medical device sector.

Speaking of the development journey of Shaoxing's medical device industry, it can be said to have yielded abundant fruits. Under the provincial goal of "4 industrial clusters with revenues of 50 billion each," Yuecheng District, as the main urban area, has borne 58.3% of the city's medical device manufacturing enterprises, 71.8% of product registration certificates, and over 90% of the output value. At present, the district has 56 medical device manufacturing enterprises of grade II or above, more than 1,100 operating enterprises, and more than 5,000 related enterprises. The total output value of medical device related enterprises is more than 20 billion yuan.

Behind this achievement, it is inseparable from the government's early planning and precise strategy.  Not only does it encourage traditional enterprises to actively transform and upgrade, but it also actively introduces leading enterprises in the industry such as Gene+ empowering and gathering strength for the high-quality development of the industry.

The construction of the platform is certainly important, but the cultivation of high-precision talents is the key to achieving practical results.  In this regard, Yuecheng District has successively introduced a series of talent policies such as 'Double appointment system', 'exemption from review', 'recommendation system', attracting over 9,000 medical device professionals and conducting more than 60 collaborative technology projects.  Among these, the district has established research institutes in collaboration with universities like Zhejiang University, building 3 provincial-level new research institutions and 11 provincial key laboratories.  All of this demonstrates that medical devices, as a typical representative of new productive forces, are currently in a stage of rapid development, and Yuecheng has already gained a first-mover advantage.

How to maintain the lead in the next stage, Yuecheng District has made full preparations.  The person in charge of the Yuecheng District Medical Device Industry Development Working Group revealed that next, they will invite top international consulting firms to develop a high-quality development plan for the district's medical device industry at a high starting point, focusing on 'stock transformation and new increment introduction,' with a focus on building a medical device industry cluster centered around cutting-edge fields such as brain-computer interfaces, gene testing, high-value consumables, and digital intelligence devices. In addition, we are fully accelerating the industrial space planning and layout of the Jishan Street Thousand-Mu Future Industry Zone, strengthening cooperation with prestigious universities, and speeding up technology transfer. We are also exploring the 'Fund + Industry' and 'Competition + Project' investment models.  Setting up a billion-yuan science and technology innovation mother fund to select high-quality projects for implementation.  In the future, Yuecheng District will be built into a new highland for the integrated development of medical device industries in the Yangtze River Delta.
